Summary:
This is inspired by a recurring dream I've had since 2008

I floated in stillness–
cradled by an amethyst sea,
golden light blooming
across sapphire waves of violet flame.

The sky stretched wide in bronze and rose,
scarlet clouds suspended mid-air,
their edges sharp against deep indigo.
The weight of the world lifted,
as heaven painted the skies
in vibrant, tender hues.

Beneath me,
currents glided like ribbons of light,
folding and unfolding,
whispering secrets I could feel but not hold,
drawing me deeper into hush.
Each fiery streak of sun,
plum-stained by the ocean’s tint,
cast a metallic sheen across the surface.

I let my hands drift into crystal violet,
watching the water slip through my fingers–
ripples shimmering like prayers,
threads of amethyst and silver
tracing my outline long after they passed.
I lifted my gaze.

From the glowing sea, an island rose–
its sands soft rose quartz
spun with starlight,
a haven built on absolute silence.

Spirits of light rested there,
warm as sun-drenched silk,
their laughter rising
like fireflies in the air,
touching sky and heart alike,
a sound that promised everything.

All that was, and all that would be,
folded into the hush of the sea.
I rested in stillness,
a spark reflected in the infinite sky,
suspended in the breathing silence
of amethyst light.

      • Thank you! I’ve been having this recurring dream of an amethyst sea, and reflecting on it gives me such inner peace. Now I even own many amethyst gemstones. Adelphina, your words about it being soothing really resonate. I love swimming just as the sun is setting.

It’s such an ethereal experience. The water feels as warm as the sunset, and the sky’s colors are breathtaking. Perhaps that’s why I dream of this sea, and I’m happy I was able to capture this experience in Amethyst Sea. I’m so glad it came across that way!

    1. Thank you so much, Damian! I really appreciate you noticing the imagery and color– those beach sunsets here on the island, where I live are my biggest inspiration. Appreciate you too, friend!
