A Traveler

Stop me if I linger
Long enough to tell a lie
But the truth is at the edge
Where the whispers answer why
Shake me from my sleep
As I wake you from a dream
Drifting deep in questions
You will find
I am just a traveler
Aimless on a journey
Dancing through the mist
Inside your mind

Stop me if I wander
Into silence you create
But the taste of sound caresses
All the traces of your fate
Scream into my ear
So I’ll talk softly to your eyes
In words that tempt the hungry
To go blind
I am just a traveler
Floating in a memory
Waltzing in the heat
Inside your mind

Stop me if I answer
Every breath you breathe
But the air always remembers
When surrender turns to leave
Push me to the wind
While I pull you to the sea
To waves that you alone
Must sail behind
I am just a traveler
Singing in the rain
Soaking in the falls
Inside your mind

    1. The push and pull inherent, in the moonlit tide of your words, makes this quite a joy to read. A great depth can be gleaned between the eddies. This write brings to mind my favorite song by beach house, called The Traveler, coincidentally. Superb poem!
