[Dante And Vìrgil]

I almost bit her neck,
but her puffed, glossy lips
Trapped cigarette smoke
I don’t smoke—
still, I craved a drag.
Snow White bit my Adam’s apple.

The wicked and the weak
face in the eyes of a troubled mirror.
Heart beating in her mouth,
she sat with traces of lipstick
and dried blood on her lips.

And human bodies
melting on top of each other,
like burning candles,
with a female figure in the background.

[Saturn Devouring His Son]

Just like an artist backstage, rehearsing her nakedness
A lady with all the symbols on her chest
Lie on her back, on a pile of books

A split pomegranate perched on her chest.
The seeds spilled between her breasts,
like drops of rain and wine; and petrichor
absolved what roots from the dirt.

Each rib resembles a line of poetry
That I can squash like wild berries in a bowl.
In her pondering eyes I saw a pond
With a reflection of me.

[Medusa]

All I wanted was love,
but I didn’t want to get my hands dirty.
Vipers of velvet wiggled their way out of my head
in an attempt to bite me in the tail.
All roses speak in Mandarin when I fail,
and you just pretend not to have heard the howls of the herd.

A rose that cracked the vase and split
the lady, man, mantis—wicked thing—in half.
An elephant crushed the rose,
and neither you, nor the elephant, nor the rose are in the room.

Everything turns to ashes,
so embrace the ashes in the hourglass.
It won’t slow, nor quicken,
just for the sake of the fall—
a memory worth savouring.
Chew on it, like a seasoned heart.

    1. There’s not many times when I’m speechless. Ask anyone here who knows me.
      You just did that.
      (it’s wickedly good)

      • Thank you, my friend. I have envisioned this “fairy tale” for a while. And I am satisfied with the result. Its going to be quiet a movie of it. Haha

    2. Plucking characters from mythology and creating dark poems in trilogy form. Now that’s inventive. I don’t believe I’ve ever read your poems before. You’re a unique writer for sure. Excellent writing and imagination.
