First of all, dammit I miss the reading list option. Rest assured I would be smacking that button if it existed here! I absolutely love Blondie! You should have heard me squeal when I saw the title of this episode…before I even opened it. I remember losing my mind whenever they actually played Heart of Glass on MTV back in the day. Something about their music felt natural to me, not as cultivated for the masses of popularity. So excited to see them featured in this episode, my friend! 🙌

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you enjoyed the story my friend. I miss the RL option as well. There is a bookmark option, I guess it’s supposed to be the same thing. lol. I love Blondie. The reunion album was killer. In 1998 they released- “No Exit” the whole album is incredible. Different styles some jazz vibes, some country vibes even. Debbie also raps again. This time on the song, No Exit. She raps with Coolio on the song. Appreciate you.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Adira. So glad you enjoyed the story my friend. If you loved “Rapture” may I recommend “No Exit” the title track of the album with the same title. It was released in 1998 as a new studio album. The whole album was outstanding with different music styles. But, “No Exit” has rap in it. It’s a collaboration though with Blondie & Coolio. Debbie & Coolio swap back and forth. Killer song. Appreciate you.

It sadly resonates with me…in the form of soul searching, in the process of healing.
Great write Damian ⚘️ -
This really hits so many issues in just one short poem. For some reason it brings to mind the insane deportations…families torn apart. Probably because that’s my fear, my daughter…Muse on, my friend. I’m here for it

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Tim. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Being an alcoholic who no longer partakes, I’ll say the biggest thing I’ve learned is how many people I hurt. When I was consumed by the disease, I couldn’t see that. I rationalized I was only hurting myself, that’s how hollow I had become. Appreciate you.

Pinkdreams, I love this poem! You spoke for all those stuck between the past and the future. Your courage is a wonder to behold. To set off after years maybe decades on this new adventure takes courage. I also enjoyed reading about the challenges you faced as a teacher. Love the tone you set for this poem. Enjoyed this much.

It’s never the heart that gets broken, just the mind.It never returns to its former self but wabi-sabi.

OMG, I had never heard that song either until that competition. I wrote something for it too, but it sucked. Thank God you came to get me, Sam. You do realize that I’m not wearing a damn thing under this raincoat, right?

Saying that this gave me goosebumps would be the understatement of the year, Sam.
This was beautiful in such a devastating way..
Well done.

Interesting! I didn’t know about the band name story or anything. Now I feel like listening to Blondie. “)
Well done Damian!
