Poets, they may come and go
While others are here to stay
And though some you’ll never know
The ones you meet…change your fate
Such were my travels when I was Deep Underground
The harder side of poetry was never the same
When I met a man from Portugal, Mr. Bond
With poetic skill and craft worthy of world fame
And for years the ideas and thoughts he conveyed
Gave me a new perspective when it comes to verse
His collection of works can delve into the soul
With a pragmatic approach to the universe
A philosopher, a free spirit, a romantic
He wrote with peace and balance more often than not
He had a love for nature, his muse, his garden
Joshua always wrote poems to ponder the thought
Poets, they may come and go
Some you meet just by luck or fate
Joshua Bond is now star bound
Destined to be among the greats
Rest in Peace

Beautifully penned, Wally. An excellent tribute write my friend. Sorry for your loss.. Sounds like an amazing mentor/friend. I agree that poets come and go it’s a part of being human knowing that the journey will end one day. That being said there are some special poets that inspire us more than they know, every writer who’s had a mentor can relate to this ink. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate you.
Damian
this is beautiful dearest Wally I had the beautiful oppurtunity to know a lot of Underground poets including you but Joshua only by reading him and visits to my page…it was a beautiful experience being with all of you and I’m sure he is in the celestial reciting poetry my dream is to have a little cottage with a garden when I get there ❤️
Awesome tribute.
I commented the other day but apparently there was an issue with commenting for some of us. Fixed now I hope!
I really like how you’ve called out another writer for their progress and energy for creative writing. It’s good to see!
