    The Angry Box

I was a shy awkward kid, from about 4th grade to high school. I was never popular, to some I probably wasn’t recognized at all. Except, to be picked on by bullies who take pleasure in that sort of...

    • I like the angry box. You are right it is important to let out the rage, bottled up is a bomb ready to be set off. Good write Damian.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. It is very important indeed. Appreciate you.

    • Powerful. Writing is cethartic. You nailed it.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Thomas. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It is indeed. Appreciate you.

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Tim. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I figured you could relate. Appreciate you.

    • Despite wildly different backgrounds & life stories, I somehow think you & I have similar spirits. Creation is a beautiful outlet & when we’re in pain, all we want to do is create beauty to soothe the wounds. And if you were anything like I was, secretly hoping one day you’d be famous & show those douche canoes. 😂 You, my friend, are a rockstar!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I have thought that as well, we’re what I call Kindred Spirts. Fancy talk for we kinda think alike, I feel that too. I’m the most popular rockstar that never made it I know of. lol. I’ve made it in my own way, just not the traditional way. Appreciate you.

    Is This Even Cohesive?

It is I again. I’m just gonna say it out loud, folks. Respect the dead. Don’t use AI to see what they would look like had they lived to present day. First off, it’s kinda creepy. It’s just cringe...

    • I agree… let the dead rest in peace … and let the living live in peace

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Sam. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. I agree wholeheartedly with every word you said there. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Great reflections, Damian! You are absolutely right, we all should treat each other with respect, dead and living people alike. The past is gone and the future isn’t ours to see. We should live in the present moment and fill it with love, peace and new experiences. Life is short, let’s make the best of it for the sake of all living beings!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Sappho. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. Absolutely, we should make the best of the time we’re here. Thanks so much for such great commentary. Appreciate you.

    • Famous dead celebrities are always resurrected. Big business my friend. Great write Damian.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. Yeah, I know everything reeks of Capitalism unfortunately. Everything is business, cut and dry, profit and loss. Wish we could change that, brother. Appreciate you.

    • I’m with you here, Damian. It’s just plain wrong to use AI to bring back someone’s image. There’s so many heartbreaking stories out there about this. I call it necromancy, not art.
I’m sure everyone has seen the guy whose family brought his image back to life in court to let it say it forgives the guy who murdered him. This is “Black Mirror” and it’s wrong.
Thank you for bringing this to light.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Alexandria. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I agree wholeheartedly, also thank you so much for such great commentary. I can see that, considering it necromancy, it sure as hell ain’t art. They do it with audio as well. Example: Using AI to make it sound like Freddie Mercury sang some song we know he never sung. This world has gone mad. Appreciate you.

    • I told a close friend that AI is going to rewrite the social contract.
This very articulate vent here hit the nail on the head as to what I meant
      Glad you shared this, Damian

      Much respect

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Naaj. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I can see that, AI rewriting the social contract. Corporations only care about the bottom line, tax cuts, and their corporate welfare. People get in the way of that. They want cheap labor, so they can acquire more wealth and power. Creative people annoy them, they don’t possess the gifts to create, and they don’t like paying the people who can. So, AI is there ticket to not having to deal with us pesky creative folks. Sorry, for continuing to rant, but you brought up a good point, and my mind just ran with it. Much respect. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • It is very cohesive. People put too much energy in re-writing the past instead of focussing in influencing the future for the greater good…

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Jade. So glad you connected with the write my friend. You hit the nail on the head, always wanting to rewrite the past. Especially our Government. lol. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • I love the rants, and I agree it is creepy to see them. Just let it be. Stress from work, life and lack sleep will march across your face quick. No need to use filters to see how you would age. Nice one, Damian

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Ain’t that the truth. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • I sometimes read your writing & get the sense I’m reading the manuscript of an oracle. You say uncohesive, I see fluid & dead accurate…pardon the pun. I have a debate with my roommate who is mildly obsessed with AI over the use of it. I use it to turn my writing into music because I lack musical skills. But while I have more that 200 in my personal playlist, they’re for me & I share very few. Because if I could create the music myself, that would be the only route I’d use. With my daughter rocking vocals…that girl! Trust me, my friend, it’s very cohesive

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Well thank you, I try to stay on point, but my mind just grabs on to multiple directions sometimes. Must be the Pisces in me. lol. Nothing wrong with using AI for fun or like you did to put your words to music, because you can’t write music. Nobody understands that any better than me my friend. In the songwriting duo, I was lyrics, I needed Joey G to pull the ideas out of me musically, that was the only way I ever got music ideas out. Or I’m good on GarageBand, because I’m decent at arranging music and song structure. So I need help as well my friend. Your daughter was singing on that song you posted?? Always enjoy your commentary my friend, you make me ponder, which is cool. Appreciate you.

    • You take your grief and spill it into a poem of great remembrance and timeless ache for this soul who apparently left this earth all too soon. Lyrically beautiful and soulful vision of what he meant to you and how you heal from loss. Love this poem.
