Yeah, why not a praying mantis. I think they are cool as hell actually. Ever since I saw my first one as a kid, as it was eating a caterpillar like a piece of corn on the cob, I’ve been amazed by them. Little green demons, lol.

Amazing writing, dear Styxian. So authentic and pure! Scars are a sign that life has been lived. And I think that prayers never remain unanswered. But often we realize not before many times has passed, in which way the answer has manifested in our lives.

The funny thing is, (well, not funny exactly!), is I have had so many misfortunes over the years. I used to look at it as bad luck. Yet then, perhaps the fact that I have got this far in pretty decent shape overall, it’s always been secretly good luck to make it through.
And hey, it’s good to see you around again! Good writers like you should be more frequent!

I get more of a vibe of searching for a solution to a frustrating moment, yeah? Anyway, I love the message you carried consistently throughout the poem. My grandmother would always give us blessings if she knew we were having night terrors or having really horrible luck. It was her way of trying to help you. I look back at it now and realized how much power she gave her faith.
I struggle with that sometimes but other times I’ve realized it’s all you got amigo:)

There’s definitely nothing dark about this one, girl. This one rolls out almost spiritually. Whether pagan calling to their priestess or spirit calling to her inner priestess…this hits beautifully. We have entered “spooky girl” season and it’s time to bring out the fun stuff indeed! I’m not much good at spooky, but maybe I can try my hand in honor of the month. 🙌
