    • Strangely brilliant.

      • I’ll settle for strangely beautiful. Thank you Peter. In poetry and cyber kindness. Rob

    • The tension between digital distance and primal yearning – between the “computer screen” and “bones falling out of pillows”
      – is utterly captivating. The imagery is beautiful and sensual, a collision of technology and raw desire.

      • Where the hell did you sail from? Let’s board a pirate ship and plunder & plunder, until there is nothing left but words hand-scratched on the Titanic.

Written since the womb really (apologies – that sounds so fucking pretentious) but as the decades tumble, if I can touch such beautiful souls then let that be my linguistic epitaph. Rob – never ever call me Bob. Lol

    The Mahogany Door

The shore hummed with strangers, voices rippling like wind across sand, though I did not know why I had come. The sea called to me,its familiar pull thrumming in my chest.I slipped beneath the surface, cold silk folding around my skin.A great white...

    • Your poetry always caresses the senses with a surrealistic hug. Nice one. 🙂

      • Relic, is this you? Hi. I remember your name is Tim. It’s been so long. You’re one of the first poets I met when I joined WC. Tim, thank you for your kind words. Coming from you, that means a lot, as your own work is masterful at creating those sensory dreamscapes.

    • Oh, this is good!

    • Blimey Roma, I lie less than a mile from the sea and yet these words resonate louder than the incoming midnight tide. You are a mistress of the moon and sea – always leave that mahogany door open.

      • Thank you so much! “Mistress of the Moon and Sea” is high praise -I think I’ll claim that title! I also still love your description of the blood moon as “slut red.” I’m truly glad the words resonated louder than your midnight tide. And I promise, I’ll leave that mahogany door open for you.

    • Beautifully penned, Roma. Your imagery is so precise it immediately grabs my attention. Excellent write my friend. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Thank you so much, Damian. I truly appreciate your kind words. I appreciate you too.

    • ‘Then I awoke,
      carrying the weight of water,
      of memory,
      of starlight,

bridging the world of the living
with the world I had entered.’

Your words have a sadness from core to display; I had to read them three times because at the first try I sighed, had to catch my breath; tragedy seemed to come from somewhere far, far out of reach. Such emotional words, could be real, true.

    • Hi emmagreen. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful response. 🌙 Your words mean a lot…I wrote this piece with that very sense of distance and weight in mind, like grief and memory carried from another realm. I’m touched it resonated with you.

    • Chère K.,
      Hope this finds you well.

In a burst of connection with the internet, I reread your 4 recent poems with a lot of pleasure.
And (surprise, surprise) here’s another gem.

I love it a lot and the artwork as well. Veggie proof! There’s a lot possible without suffering from animals.
      People are animals too?
      Hmmmm…..

      Warmest greetings, as always, Gus

      • Chère Gus,

Your words make me smile – you know how to slip inside a poem and stroke it from the inside. I love that you felt the artwork too, a proof that desire can be lush, indulgent… without harm. (or can it?)

And yes… people are animals too. The difference is, we pretend we’re tame – until someone bares their teeth, or leaves scratches down your back. haha (but if I bite you know I am excited and you are doing something so right) Perhaps that’s the secret pulse you caught in the poem: pleasure, hunger, and the little cruelty of always wanting more. 😉

    • Feels like old times seeing you again Kx

Boy, have I missed your writing and you. Feels like eons…

Well you didn’t disappoint, my hunger is rising and your picture, well you always know how to stir the pot, maybe you’ll let me lick it clean !

      BIG LIKE

RL AWARD if they had RL’s

      • Mmm… so it really has been far too long, hasn’t it? I’ve missed the way you let that hunger spill right through your words. Stirring the pot is half the fun… I love stirring the pot if it means I am going to get spanked hard and … * nevermind, innocent look * and teasing you with a little taste, letting you wonder just how messy I’ll let that pot get before you lick it clean. 😈🔥 Thanks for the BIG LIKE, and that RL award? I’ll take it… naked.

    • That is cooking. Oven is hot over here.

      • Careful… it’s always hot over here, and I might sneak in and let you push me back against the oven door. Feel me shiver as the heat seeps into my skin, while your lips trace fire over me. I’d melt for you, drip for you, beg for you… and then I’d make you burn just as wildly, until we’re both too undone to tell where the heat ends and we begin. Okay I get carried away easily… I swear my mind is permanently in the gutter…

    • It’s always a pleasure and experience to read you.

      • I knew you are the sentimental type Adagio even if you hide it… but still you surprised me. And I have to admit, hearing that feels nice. I like knowing my words aren’t just read, but felt – that they leave you with an experience. Careful though… if you keep saying things like that, I might start expecting more sweet confessions from you.

    • Passionately penned, Kristina. This was piping hot straight from the oven. A sweet and gooey concoction indeed. Deliciously written my friend, excellent write. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Mmm… piping hot, gooey, and tempting – you make me blush the way you describe tasting my words, Damian. Maybe I should keep baking them up just to see how hungry I can make you. Your appetite is always appreciated. 🔥😉 sweet and gooey is only the surface. Beneath the sugar there’s intense heat, bite, and something far more decadent. I love that you tasted the fire in this one.

    • Loved the sexiness of this piece.

      • Thank you… guess I just can’t help but let some sexiness slip into everything I write. Maybe it’s my guilty pleasure… or maybe I just like keeping you stirred up. I love that you stopped by to see me, that’s very sweet. 😉🔥

    • How did I miss this Krispie slice of sensual fruit pie? You remain an orchard of midnight promise. Glad you are still quill’ing an’ all.

      • Mmm, you always had a way with words – orchard of midnight promise might be my new favorite sin. I’ve been keeping the quill warm and other things hot, just waiting for someone to come steal a taste again. Careful though… this fruit still bites back. 🍒🖤

    • A delicious write! As always.
I would love some honey in milk
Or milk in the honey. “)

      • Careful M.E—too much honey and I might forget where the poem ends and you begin 🙂
