    • I love the idea of this group, and I will run it for a while if that is alright with all of you. Below is the picture of Bumpei Usui, Portrait of Yasuo Kuniyoshi in His Studio, 1930, oil on canvas, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Gift of Regis Corporation, 1984.92.
I want you all to take your time, study the picture, and write what is moving you…Read More

      • Wasn’t it weird to hear she was a poet? It struck a chord in me and the loss was felt double. The world needs poets.

      • Powerfully penned, Fia. All this madness is getting innocent people killed, it’s insane the amount of blood being spilled by this death cult regime. A fellow poet and most importantly a human being was taken from her child and loved ones. I’m fucking disgusted by all this senseless violence. Nice tribute my friend. Appreciate you, cuz.

      • Nicely done, Fia, Thank you. It is hard to see anyone die so senselessly and ruthlessly, especially by someone who does it while cameras are rolling, knowing his act will be seen around the world. Perhaps that is why he took such a risk; but I think he knew that Trump and Noem would have his back. They all should rot in hell. Soon.

        • Thank you, FD. After you written your tribute I was moved and wanted to write one as well. How many times we have to see on camera what is going on before people wake up? It should not matter that she is a poet, but it does hit hard for the community.

      • I always think of how these acts are only what we see. I wonder and am scared of what they do when no one’s looking.
Monsters, and honestly I don’t think much for their supporters either.

      • Great tribute, these are sad times Lady indeed. Wat you’re seeing is straight out of Hitler’s and the Nazi’s play book. This country played with this man and now is facing it’s possible end.

      • I woke up this morning and needed to speak of the murder. I had no idea there were already several pieces posted. Essentially we have a narcissistic sadist with his hire hitmen out there, acting like people are expendable. I watched the video with my daughter and we were both struck by how casually he shot her and then walked away like it was nothing. Because he knows his keepers will cover his ass. Empowering men whose natural tendency is cruelty was intentional, make no mistake. Their day of reckoning will come. Just not soon enough.

        • I have two daughters myself, and I think it could have been them. It could have been my niece. It could be anyone. My heart cries out to her son who has no mother or father now.

      • Were in some real trying times right now. This poem is well written and real to each word I read here. Nice job Fia..xox

      • Chère F.,
Lovely poem for a horrible happening.

        Scene of the rhyme
Is always better than scene of the crime

        Keep the courage, please…
        Warm regards, Gus

      • At the minimum, it is manslaughter. She was attempting to flee, not harm. He could have simply taken one step back. Even if he isn’t charged with a crime, he should be removed from that job. He has an irrational temperament.

      Renee.

There’s a poem that will remain unfinished;its shadow willdrip ribbons of blood. Her imagination was forcefully executedthrough brazen authorityand the bursting ballad of bullets. The verses posted will replace her;will replace her voice;will have to, now. It's one less poet for mankind,one...

      • Powerfully penned, Tim. Excellent tribute my friend. It’s a tragedy indeed, sometimes I don’t recognize the world anymore. Appreciate you.

      • Silencing beauty is one of mankind’s (and I use that term loosely here) gravest mistakes. We need beauty to get through what comes

      • This is the kind of poem that doesn’t ask permission—it reports from the wreckage. “A poem that will remain unfinished” is a brutal, honest truth, and the blood imagery isn’t sensational, it’s earned. I like how you refuse comfort here—no soft landing, no false resolve. The idea that the poems must replace her voice because they have to is devastating. This reads like a witness statement, not a performance. Necessary, angry, and painfully clear.

      • This one hits hard. I’ve watched that video over and over again.
I saw another where an agent told a protester, “If you raise your voice I will erase your voice”…while I’m thinking, then the thunder of the masses will drown him if he does that. I can’t wait for the trials and all the video evidence.
We will say their names forever so they are never forgotten.
