Life comes without a safety net. To think that we have control is an illusion. But everyone of us has a reliable inner compass knowing what’s right or wrong and guiding us. It’s called intuition, and we can trust it. It’s your tour guide while climbing mountains. It won’t lead you astray.

The first line is amazing, gripping. The rest of the poem builds well. I’m a minimalist. The first line can hold its own.

dont think about … keep fighting

The world needs fighters who will stand for things that are right. Of course you get tired, but if the spirit is strong, the strength will come.

Once you accept “self” the candle of time, flickers bright.

Through a repetition to our unconscious mind, we become our own worst enemies. We talk ourselves into defeat and fall into a slot that we can’t get out of even though we know it’s erroneous information.

If I leave my keys in a certain spot for a month, when I lose them I’ll find myself constantly going back to that spot even though I know they’re not there. It’s that constant repeating I previously did that sticks. It’s the same way with self confidence and self talk.

Never has a statement rang more loudly and clearly with fact than that one. We’re learning to adjust what we once deemed impossible…to be unjust but still happening. If we pay too close attention, it risks breaking us. If we don’t pay close enough attention, it will take us unaware. We’re walking a tightrope of razor blades these days. I’m finding it necessary to keep my loved ones in constant contact. The comfort of the familiar is a dangerous thing because this reality snuck up on us in a bum’s rush and tackled us flat on our asses. Bend, my friend. I got your back if you need to rest

A brilliant poem, dear Damian! I can absolutely relate to it
We are ourselves greatest enemy. Damned self doubt has never helped anyone, it only blocks our power to take action and stay true to our own opinion.

Thank you, Elke. It’s not often that I speak of my privacy and I couldn’t care less how some perceive me. I am what I am, hitched to a higher being.

I have two books by David McCullough I’m reading now so I’m glad to see he said that. I’ve been a musician for over fifty years and started when I was very young. If I couldn’t write (which for the most part I can’t anyway lol) I’d be hitting a drum or playing guitar.

You did a good interview here, Elke. Nice job.

It’s interesting to get a glimpse of the authors behind their words. And, perhaps we find a few things in common that we didn’t predict prior, like their personal beliefs, even.
After all, we are not generic souls hashing out the same results. Diversity is strength, even when the tastes are not always agreeable.

This interview floored me with a deeply felt (or feld) human touch questioning. As well as simple but bulls eye answers.
