    My Poetic Knife

Resting restlessly within the dark of its sheath,my poetic knife feels expressionless. When so, it wants to be drawnand plundered into the white of the page. Then it wants to cut through the emptinessand carve out beautiful metaphors. The blade will glint...

    Voices In The Wilderness

Just speak to meand you’ll gaze into thewilderness behind my eyes. This wilderness, lush in dreams, barren realities! As I open the gate for you,I sit and listen white-knuckledto the voices within my mind. The further you trek in my mind, the closer to summery...

    • Great detail. The suspense and direction this poem goes is alluring. Nice work!

    • Nice slide rhyme and repetition…

      Solid imagery in [pioneer’s compass]…

I had a new idea for implementation
      of imagery…

Do something like a Carlos Williams
      Red Barrel…

      Like just insert in…

    • Thank you for taking a read and thank you for asking

This is an actual person. He runs a haunted house/fun house out on the edge of our community. I asked him if I could write something that was inspired by him. Wrote from a place of fear and loathing with equal parts hope and magic! That thing that draws you in even if you shouldn’t.

My God, your name is so appropriate after reading that piece… sorry, I’m kind of crass at times… but I just wanted to say this sounds more like an every minute thought, not just every day. What happened to that ‘business’ you were attending after coffee?

      xoxoxo

    • That business after coffee remains unresolved 😉
