I will continue to say those who believe the lies do so for their own corrupt reasons. Which begs the question…who is worse? The chief liars or those who choose to believe because it suits their agendas? I’ve lost friends & family to this current state of the world. Eyes wide open, mind wider. It’s the only way to make it through. Another solid write, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It’s truly a cult in my opinion, when no matter how much truth is revealed, they continue to follow. I don’t think most wanna see, or they actually like what the world is becoming. That’s how I see it, always enjoy your commentary. Appreciate you.

Outstanding piece Damian. Not a favorite band of mine, but your passion and detail to this band is quite impressive. Well said!

This took me so many places. From countless hours watching MTV to meeting, speaking with & shaking hands with the reporter from South Africa who was friends with Stephen Biko…the movie Cry Freedom. I had forgotten that White Lion did a song about apartheid with a similar title to the movie. Some truly incredible talent blossomed & hit the scene in the 80s. I’m so glad you’re highlighting them, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the story my friend. It’s a great song, actually. I vaguely remember that movie, Stephen Biko? Oh yes, Peter Gabriel, had a song called: Biko. You can see the issues of the time, writers make that happen. Yes, the 80’s get a bad rap sometimes, when it was actually a really creative era. Your welcome.. Appreciate you.

I think that is a sign of a good poem when you can read your work and get a different thought from it. Nicely done.

I hate sitting and thinking too much. Because then I start over thinking and that just is never good haha. Wonderful poem. It does gives you a different view with each read.

Am I the only one who asks questions & finds the answers only inspiring more questions? Old from my archives:
there’s a road I often travel
between here…
and not quite there
when I’m looking for an answer
some direction…
to take me anywhere
a million thoughts
a thousand dreams
all drifting on the wind
if I try to follow even one…
it circles back again
to this road I often travel…Doesn’t stop us asking questions though, does it, my friend?

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. First off, excellent write my friend. I think it happens to all of us, it just shows a lot of us are searching for the same answers. That should bring us a feeling of hope, that we’re never truly alone. It’s the little things we all have in common, that brings me hope. Sorry for the tangent. Appreciate you.
