…before fear of walking in daylight
    even worse at night
…before being forced to carry my papers
hoping they even give them a glance
because there’s money to be made…

    Someday Soon

Desperation fuels chaos in the streets While false idols continue to make war Honest poets keep writing the receipts That’s right we’ve been keeping score   Someday soon judgment catches us all Pride hits hardest when forced to crawl   Evil people are cowards speaking in lies Hiding...

    • Raise a marshmallow to soon! It’s well past time. And again, another one that fits as well as the day it was mused, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Raising a marshmallow to soon! Unfortunately it fits because things have gotten worse, but us poets and poetesses are quite good at keeping account of all the receipts. Appreciate you.

    • Powerful work, my friend. Excellent.

    • While false idols continue to make war, this work summons a Jesus who refuses salvation and a Non‑Jesus who refuses erasure. They move like twin shadows, circling the wound the world keeps reopening. Nothing here seeks redemption. Instead, the performance asks who is allowed to carry a name that has been used to bless both mercy and violence. The ritual is not an answer, it is a reckoning.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, PAR. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That’s a deep analysis brother. Appreciate you.

  • Honor, Respect, Loyalty

Honor was not just a word

    It was inner compass

    Felt deep within

    Respect is earned

Not demanded like a spoiled brat

    Given willing

    Loyalty is fleeting

    What once was sort out

Is now blown away like a puff of smoke
