Where Scoundrels Taste The Rain

HomePoetryWhere Scoundrels Taste The Rain

Can you feel the open
When the instinct is to close
Can you feel the linger
Where the touch begs to refrain
Can you hear the words
Where silence asks to grow
And the thought is to surrender
Where scoundrels taste the rain?

Can you rest in quiet
When morning calls to scream
Can you give all to restless eyes
When the view should be restrained
Can you lay awakened
When the night calls you to dream
And the sky asks to surrender
Where scoundrels taste the rain?

Can you hear the thunder
When nature leaves you bare
Can you feel the asking
Where the answer comes untamed
Can you ignore the longing
Where wind makes chills aware
And the lightning begs surrender
Where scoundrels taste the rain?

Can you walk in light
Where the shadows dance behind
Can you trace what is forbidden
When your hunger rests unchained
Can you now resist the danger
With thoughts so unrefined
And mercy calls surrender
Where scoundrels taste the rain?
