    Cova

Cova Cova spoke most fondly of her    Andalusian sea .. She also spoke five languages    including mine .. Cova wore no prints upon her pretty finger tips and at first, I thought she was    a Basque spy .. Cova carried the scent of rock pools and...

    • I wonder if she left because she was scared that she would feel more than just a fling or did she just want you to pay for the bill. Enjoyed this.

      • I wish I knew too .. but I’m glad you stopped by and gave my little scribble the thumbs up Fia .. Many thanks .. Neville 😎👍

    • Powerfully penned, Neville. Excellent write my friend. Great storytelling. Appreciate you.

Cova left because she knew if she stayed three people would suffer. What a beautiful kind soul she was.
Just think, she’s out there somewhere reading a poem or singing a song and there you are ….right there in her mind.
      See….she never left you.
      🙏

    • What a deliriously delightful thought you have left here for me .. Thanks a million Peter .. Seasons best & all good things for the swiftly approaching New Year .. Neville

    Generational Curses

I listened to a poem earlier todayHow we are always battered and left for another guy to take because we went astray But what about the generational curses that we were taught that men aren't shit, and they weren't here to be fought they're...

    • A powerful and thought provoking piece, dear Damian! Puppets on the string which move to every command of the puppeteer are easily to control…
To follow the drum of your heartbeat was a good idea! Your free rhyming flows easily and naturally!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Elke. So glad you connected with the write my friend. You hit the nail on the head. Appreciate you.

    • Excellent, see .. this is what happens when free verse becomes you .. its all prose from here and no cons .. write on .. Neville

    • I HATE corporations and Politicians. Your poem strikes a nerve which I can easily understand and agree with.

    • This is really good cuz. I don’t like politics, but you write this so well.

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Mary. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Back at ya.. Appreciate you.

    • Two verses yet they tell the whole truth…. I don’t know how the human mind and spirit will survive and deal with all these negative rushes all around and everywhere… The problem that even when You are conscious and doing what You should do, the environment around You is saying another thing, and we both know how the surrounding affects us and now we need extra extra work! Yes I do appreciate old times. Great write my friend.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Light. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Spot on analysis. Appreciate you.

    • You know, the number of poetic rants I’ve written this year alone actually depresses me. It never seems to end. Spilling their lies and spewing their hate on the daily. Everyone I know is numb and fighting fatigue from it all. I’ll keep spilling truth if you do, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I know your pain, I have that same pain. That I wrote this in the summer of 2024 and it still works today is depressing indeed. Count me in, always willing to spill the truth my friend. Kindred Spirts! Appreciate you.

    • I second this addiction. I feel lost and unfocused if I do not write.

    • I third this addiction.

I love the written word..mine and others.

      Great write,right,rite,wright….lol

    • Very relatable Willow. Thank you for sharing 💕

    • Brilliantly penned, Willow. Into the book it belongs! Infectious vibe your words and the musical arrangement my friend. It’s the one addiction that I feed and I refuse to kick. You summed it up well as you always do. Loved this one Willow. Excellent work. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • I think this addiction is more healing than harming. It’s how we clear headspace and reset. About whatever is naggin’ the noggin. I knew you would feel this one too. Thank you, my friend

    • You express perfectly what most of us here feel, dear Willow! It’s the same with me – I scream, weep, bleed and laugh my soul onto the paper.

      • We are a special breed. I’m just glad we have a little safety bubble here. Thank you, Elke

    • It’s horrific, that ‘silent scream’, the self-reflection not seen in the mirror, the expression held inside. I hear your pen, Willow. It’s LOUD!!! But I welcome it. Let the ink flow, make Rorschach’s of rage across the page. Just know, you are seen!

      Curt

      • As long as I’m “screaming,” no need to worry. If I suddenly stop…check for a pulse. Thank you, Curt

    • I don’t run the pen. It runs me, girl. As Shrek said…Better out than in. Excise the wounds so they can heal clean. Thank you, girl. You wield a mighty pen yourself

    • Thank you, Thomas
