    • This was a great piece Damian. They should have a cemetery for these classic muscle cars. I love the look, the sound and the performance of these cars from the 60’s and 70’s. Great piece of writing Damian.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. There are nothing like the classics my friend. I even dig some of the 50’s cars and trucks. Appreciate you.

    • Okay, I’m gonna admit it. This brought me to tears. The memories I have of wandering salvage yards with daddy, scavenging parts for his current car project, are some of the most precious for me. Daddy’s little grease monkey. I can smell the old interiors & rust still. Thank you for the journey back, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Sounds like joyous tears then. My dad worked on cars some when I was younger, sometimes I smell fresh paint mixed with bondo. lol. I also enjoy watch car revivals on YouTube. I find it relaxing for some reason. Grease monkey, huh? Great story my friend. Appreciate you.

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Mary. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. Cool, my first car was a Camaro. I love cars & trucks even though I’m not mechanical at all. lol. When I need to relax I watch YouTube for the Car revival shows. A guilty pleasure I guess. lol. Never enough time. Appreciate you.

    • You don’t know what you got till it’s gone. Most cars today look like cheap matchbox cars. Great ink.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. Some of the newer cars are better than the 80’s and 90’s models. But they don’t have the spirt and vibe of their older counterparts. Appreciate you.

January tenth, we touched like before,But something was missing, we chose to ignore. No sign of an end, no hurtful goodbye,Just silence that settled and never asked why.You reached for my body, but haven't since then,No heat, no cold, just...

    • Okay, that is gut-wrenching. To lay there and live a slow death that you did not sign up for. Not right at all.
      This is executed well

    • Thanks for the thoughtful comment Fia.

It’s not right and it’s not wrong , it’s just the way it is.Like everything in life, even suffering is impermanent.

      🙏

    • Quite moving..thank you for sharing

    • I’ve often felt that pain is preferable to apathy. That quiet passing out of space. This haunts & hurts. So often the case, & always hard

    • First the Technical: Excellent consistency with meter, beautifully executed rhyme.
Composition: Incredible depth. As Willow noted, the piece reflects a falling away, a loss of touch and intimacy with no explanation. It’s a death of sorts, and you’ve painted it perfectly. Really well done.
