    Reflections of a Gen-Xer

When I look in the mirror I see more graysAs if the days whizzed by a little too fastEvery wrinkle I see appearing on my faceFeel like secrets and information amassed Many reflections seem like they are distant viewsLike watching...

    • I’m a millennial, but I relate better to people of the older generation.

I’m new to this site. This is the first piece I’ve read that I can connect with.

      • Thank you Rosie. I think sometimes some folks have older souls, relating to others which gives us more depth and insight.
Welcome to Starsrite. Hope to read and see your work soon.

    • Thanks for reading and commenting Damian. We’ve been through a lot so we know we can endure.

    • Thank you reading and commenting.
Capture those moments for posterity also helps us reflect inward, to make better decisions in the future.

    • Beautifully penned, Angel. Excellent write my friend. Welcome to Stars Rite. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Damian, thanks for the appreciative welcome. I see you have posted a lot of material on your page. I look forward to reading some of your work.

    • I like the way you start off every stanza with a single word and build on it. Lovely work. Welcome to Stars Rite

      • Fia, thanks for the welcome. Your words are kind. Yes, the single words are different than how others would write their poetry. For me, it creates a pause to help focus on the feelings and emotions I’m trying to express.

    • Chère A.,
Welcome to this (Fia’s) corner of heaven.
Your verse form is very suitable for setting to music. To use as lyrics I mean.

      Maybe…
      In the future?

But for now, what a way to start!
      If you’re American: thank you.
In all other cases: keep them coming please.

      Kind regards, Gus

      • Duhsjaak, thanks for your welcoming comments. Most of my writing is based on interpretation of musical melody and song lyrics. I’ve never actually thought of my poems as song before. That is an interesting consideration.

    • I thourghly enjoyed this and welcome to Stars.

      • Atticus, thanks for your welcome. I am happy you enjoyed my celestial interpretation of the Eagles song.
