This post, at first blush, leaves me with what to disagree with. After a second read, and seeing the layers underneath, it is powerful and insists that one consider it on the deeper level. Many thanks and blessings. <3 Echo

Fist in the air, I’m over here going “Yeah! And…yeah!” All the way through this one. I remember this one & I’m glad she followed you over. Some truths should never fade into darkness. Favorite line:
Only way to quit the lie is to go cold turkey
That is gold, my friend

Totally agree…
We got a shitstorm of rhetoric and meaningless ambiguity to wade through. I remember the term “Double Speak” from Orwell’s 1984. So legitimate. The dude had the future pegged. What we need round here is another Nostradamus and some hymnals.
Great write

You know, in my class we’d spin the bottle, and the teacher wasn’t invited. I’m so glad you’re in there doing the spinning. It’s obvious that you make learning fun. (I’m not saying we didn’t have fun learning, but it wasn’t on the curriculum.)
Have fun in your new life! You’ve earned it.

Phenomenal write. Your poetry has such humor & realism. Love it! Wishing you the best of luck in your journey.

This is a great read.
I wish I had teachers like you who gave a damn about her students. I’ve had ADD my whole life. I outgrew it for years but now as a geezer it’s returning…. which sucks.
I skim everything but I read every word here…Best of luck going forward.
I’m thinking of retiring but the thought of it makes me kinda want to puke. I’m old enough to retire but I’m not done yet.
Need a new career not so much for the money but more for identity..BIG LIKE

Thank you PS. I get the retirement struggle. Even if I could afford to retire at this point, I know I would feel lost. Like you, I feel I have more to give. And structure is necessary for ADDs like us. I’m just hoping to find a new gig that’s not as stressful. Hope you find what you’re looking for too.

I read the title, the summary &…my jaw still dropped when I started reading the actual poem! Ya turnin’ up the heat in here, my friend!
Side note, when I started my hand at erotica, I was so self-conscious that I created an alternate account on DUP to hide behind while I worked out how & what my erotic voice sounds like. I remember you saying you always worry it sounds corny…absolutely nothing corny about your erotica, my friend! 🔥

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. Ok, maybe I’m not as horrible at writing erotica as I thought I was. But you’re right, it’s not my most confident voice. lol. Anyhow, I’m not shutting them out like I used to, if I have an idea I entertain it now. Thanks for always being so supportive my friend. Appreciate you.

Oh, you’re a boy with a beat, Damian. I can feel it. Music all over it.
“All the worries give way to pleasure” – got the Marvin Gay “Sexual Healing” going on.
You can be my ‘Repeat Offender’ any time.xoxo

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you enjoyed the write my friend. Yeah, it was inspired. You wrote an erotica piece, then Willow had one, Then Meg, Then Mary, then Naaj. I’m sure there were others, it was like everybody was writing erotica that day. lol. So I followed suit. Appreciate you.

This was a great piece Damian. They should have a cemetery for these classic muscle cars. I love the look, the sound and the performance of these cars from the 60’s and 70’s. Great piece of writing Damian.

Okay, I’m gonna admit it. This brought me to tears. The memories I have of wandering salvage yards with daddy, scavenging parts for his current car project, are some of the most precious for me. Daddy’s little grease monkey. I can smell the old interiors & rust still. Thank you for the journey back, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Sounds like joyous tears then. My dad worked on cars some when I was younger, sometimes I smell fresh paint mixed with bondo. lol. I also enjoy watch car revivals on YouTube. I find it relaxing for some reason. Grease monkey, huh? Great story my friend. Appreciate you.

You don’t know what you got till it’s gone. Most cars today look like cheap matchbox cars. Great ink.
