    • Even after the bridge is a smoldering pile you still can not feel anything. Once its gone, it’s gone.

    • Powerfully penned, Willow. Another excellent write with amazing storytelling my friend. Unfortunately power brings out the worst in humans. Almost like no one person should ever have that much power because it will corrupt them over time. Nicely done as always. Appreciate you.

      • It’s true. Occasionally it can be diffused. Not often though. In this case, he was a team lead who liked to flout his title from time to time. When they decided to make him a supervisor, I went to management and listed my concerns categorically. They promised to have a word with him and he changed his behavior immediately. In the end, I became his assistant for a while. He’s since left the team, but he never allowed himself to really be part of it. It was sad in a “get what you sow” kinda way. Thank you, my friend

  • Break Out

do you exist in a cocoon…
    locked up…buttoned down…
    but never evolving?

    or do you break out…
    spread wings meant for flight
    and soar into the night?

    • I wanna fly, Willow. I want to feel the wind on my face, taste the thrill of love, and why the crickets sing or the reason why words form into poetry. I may be old, but I ain’t dead yet. ;0) Cool poem Willow. -Curt

  • Reality of Now

we could spend our time talking
catching up on our day to day

    • We used to say “seize the day, seize the hour,” and after reading your poem Willow, I might add, “the time is now, seize the power”. The power of camaraderie and not allowing anything to stand in the way. I think Anise Nin would be happy with your poem, Willow. It is alive with the passion of sharing experiences of the now. Beautifully written, Willow.

      • Honestly, now is all we can really be sure of. If we don’t invest in it fully, there won’t be much of a tomorrow, will there? Thank you, Curt

    • I love these present poems. Don’t think about the past or future. think of the now. love
