Terrific write Fia.
Sorry is only one of the many words that leave our lips without any real truth or understanding.

good observational write. Well described. It is worth saving and recalling this write, for others too. A mantra to be wary of false words, including apologies.

I like steak well done, but the current steak situation…inedible, unpalatable and unacceptable. Perfectly executed

We as a nation have had tough times in the past, but I can totally understand your sentiments. Everyone is getting on the same wavelength. We all know things aren’t going good. There are many factors involved to.

I remember my grandma used to sit down and talk quietly with us when we did something we shouldn’t have. She’d explain how our actions hurt someone else, how it made them feel and asked how we would feel if it was done to us. She wanted to be sure we understood the repercussions of our actions, no automatic apology was expected. She knew we needed to feel it for it to really matter. I don’t think a lot of people take the time to do that these days. It’s just a reflexive “say you’re sorry” to the child without explanation. Doesn’t mean much that way. And then it perpetuates longevity for the behavior. This is a solid “got away from me ” piece
