Reminds me of a poem I wrote around the whole invasion of iraq. The poem is lost to me, but I remember some of the lines were.

“you can go ahead and die for your country
I value my life over everything
and if I’m gonna die
it’s not gonna be me wasted away
for a bunch of fucking creeps”

This poem has fire and I love that.

I’m gonna say I would love to throw a shoe at Joey G. If Adira doesn’t get him with her boot first. Ironically, I know a lot of musicians. All young & vibrant…& all in Nebraska. It would be amazing to see your words given the credit & voice they deserve. My partner wanted me to do songwriting for musicians but I shut it down because I “only write poetry.” 🤦‍♀️ I would write with you any day though.
