In Indigenous culture and belief, no one owns the land, we inherit it and are part of it and must share and protect it, leaving it in better shape for future generations. For some reason I was compelled to read this from beginning to end, and then reverse from the end to the beginning. The choice of words in this hook the reader so well. Short yes, but sweet. And done with skill and vivid imagery.
