It’s not easy being me.Most people never realize it.I move through different circlesthose who think deeplyand those who don’tunbothered by their intelligence,or lack of it.I’m sharp, quick-witted, often funny, able to talk about almost anything:politics, sports, culture, Trumpall the surface-level...

    • I am with you, my friend. What ever happened to depth? Conversations these days are akin to eating chocolate shell while forgetting about the ice cream. It’s why poets like you exist – to remind us of these things. Thoughtful and excellent write!

    • We never really know how people perceive us. We go out of our way to put our best foot forward, but somehow our demeanor gets lost in the translation. Staying true to yourself is your survival. It’s all we have at the end of the day. Take care, Peter!

    • Powerfully penned, Peter. Excellent write my friend. I can relate, I used to get caught up in wondering how others perceived me. It will drive you crazy going down the rabbit hole. Being we’re not able to hop in one another’s minds, it only leaves one to assume. And assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups, mainly because it’s impossible to for any human to be 100% accurate. It’s best to stay true to your moral compass and always trust your gut. That’s just my opinion though. Take care brother. Appreciate you.

  • Sippy Cup

They say a bottle is a bottle.A bottle is a sippy cup.And even if you dress them up. The negativity is still on the hunt. For a sippy cup with syrup is still syrup.Alcohol or juice. Pill diet or produce. And when the...

    • Superb work. Tremendous.

    • Well, Thank you, Thomas. Superb, huh? Tremendous, too? Two out of three words that are pretty damn good. I don’t know about that third one, though. That’s one word I kind of like to avoid. But I sure do thank you for the other ones. You know, of course, that there’s a version with words, too. Just in case you might want to read it sometime. Hmmm, I think I’ll start adding a link to the text versions of these audio versions, just in case some folks might want to take their time.

      Thanks again, Thomas,

    Golden Horizon

Look what a hot ember it is! Dipped into a fiery horizon from which hell screams, torching a bleeding cold blue sky.   The barricade of night, thawed into a limp mold can no longer hold a form upheld by nocturnal façades.   Tis’ a day of new beginnings. Why...

    Death Has No Voice

The walls of this tomb breathe, disturbing years of dusty memories  icing over my sunken corpse.   I’ve lain frozen in time since you sealed me in this eternal bed.   Darkness. Oh, how I’d love for the light to find its way pass the coffin lid.   Now and again, I’ll...

    • This is as much dark and sad as it is beautiful, dear Daniel!
Even after someone passed, memories of them will stay alive in somebody else’s heart!
