The Tale of Rabbit Jack – Audio Version

Bookmark
HomeShort StoriesThe Tale of Rabbit Jack - Audio Version
Summary:
A Tall Tale (absolutely true) as told by an old prospector. He has told this one and others to many children -- and adults, too!. There is a text version also on this site if you prefer. Obviously, you should enjoy both. The picture is by my wife, MommaSama.

I’ve been an entertainer almost all of my life. This is a story I performed many times in Austin, Texas, primarily at Chicago House, a now defunct theater just off 6th Street, the famous Entertainment District of Austin. I also performed it for an audience of mostly kids at the Austin Children’s Museum. So gather the kids around for a listen to a tale told by a grizzled old desert prospector out among sagebrush, rocks and cactus. It’s just over 16 minutes long.

If you would prefer the pure text version, go here (there’s a button for the audio at the end):

  1. Well, Thank you, Thomas. Superb, huh? Tremendous, too? Two out of three words that are pretty damn good. I don’t know about that third one, though. That’s one word I kind of like to avoid. But I sure do thank you for the other ones. You know, of course, that there’s a version with words, too. Just in case you might want to read it sometime. Hmmm, I think I’ll start adding a link to the text versions of these audio versions, just in case some folks might want to take their time.

    Thanks again, Thomas,

    FD/K
