The Big Secret

Summary:
A conversation

I’ve been walking
Talking to an angel
Trying to get that big feathered prick to spit out the big secret
That bird man won’t give up the ghost
I keep trying
Keep prying
Maybe I can get that nut a little loose
May of ruffled his feathers
As I kept pushing the levers
Maybe it was when I plucked one out
Like he was just a big old goose
I keep walking
We keep talking
As we come upon a demon ghost
Bird man didn’t seem to like them much
Though they won me over with some jam and toast
We all laughed when the bird man asked if the devil ever got their goat
Things got real quiet as the conversation turned towards a more serious note
The demon ghost and the bird man went into a heated rage
Something about loyalty and faith
Neither able to turn the page
Tried to lighten up the mood
Asked the demon ghost if they’d ever been on a date
The bird man in a soft voice said
“We used to have a thing”
The three of us kept walking
Kept talking
When we met up with a women wearing a bath robe, high heels, with a drink on the rocks in her hand
“You three sure are a sorry sight”
Have you been walking all night?
Thought to myself
It felt like moments but she’s probably right
The Demon ghost seemed uneasy
That feathered prick I call the bird man seemed upset
So I said to the lady in the high heels as she lit up a burner
“This doesn’t feel right!”
She said
“That’s how people get when the boss is around”
Well shit isn’t it a fiery crown?
I’m looking at her kind of differently now
So the four us us kept walking, kept talking
Then I asked the lady as she took a sip then a drag on her burner
“Do you know the big secret”?
She shot back “Do you think the big secret to be true”?
Told her that I really didn’t know
Taking another sip from her elixir
She replied
“Well in this case I’ll tell you this much about it
If you ever find the answer to the big secret.
Nothing again will ever be new.”
