Despair’s a dark cloud raining down
Sinful hearts drown in ruthless pride
Plastic smile worn over a tired frown
Below the surface stirs a great divide
Summer fades into an autumn wind
Chasing after what could have been
A winter storm conceals a bitter end
Losing patience time splinters within
