neglected winds howled their fury
blowing through a door ajar…
startled…
she dropped to cower…
piercing chill burning
skating across thundering veins
sudden silence filled empty pockets
scoured sterile by the pain
tomorrow has no meaning
the past has gone away
frozen fists slowly opened
letting go…
of every hope…
relinquishing the hold…
no longer keeping control in constant tow
free floating in a tsunami
course uncharted and unknown
a minnow in an ocean…
such a tiny being…
lost in a madly hungry world
dropping deep…
beneath the current
seeking shelter from the storm
within abysmal stillness…
she found unexpected strength…
to finally make her way…
home

A good write! I enjoyed reading your take on the pic, and to where it did carry you. “)
Some days I’m hunting inspiration for these poetry month entries. Other days my muse is screaming in my ear. Had to search out inspiration in an image for this one. Thank you, M.E
hello beautiful Willow this is inspiring the hopelessness and the return home as her strength return to her beautiful ❤️
Thank you, Brenda 🧡
Vivid and sharp. Powerful writing.
Thank you, Thomas
Powerfully penned, Willow. Another excellent write my friend. All that from a picture? That’s pretty damn amazing, also your imagery within the write was chef’s kiss.. Nicely done as always. Appreciate you.

I don’t know what others see in the image but that’s where my little minx muse went with it. Thank you, my friend
I love layers too, and this has many. One to sit, and study, and get lost in. Powerful Willow. Thank you!
I’m going to have to go back and read it again when April is over, see where it took me. Thank you, Brandon
