WAIT
My tea went cold
As I sat waiting for youMy toast was soggy with butter
spread with Discontent
As I sat waiting for youThe cat at the window peered out in the sun
Of that morning
Whilst I waited for youThe school kids trod home in the sun
Past the house that afternoon
Oblivious that I was
Still Waiting for youThe text or call on my phone
It never arrived
As I sat waiting for youI would of cherished any
Explanation and sent love hearts 🥰 backAs I sat waiting for you
I went to bed that night
But couldn’t sleep a wink
As I sat waiting up for youHowever I’m still waiting to see you
One daySo I eat my hot toast
I drink my warm tea
I Pat the cat more
I sleep slightly better at night
I wave to the school kids
And smileBut
I don’t have your number
In my phone anymoreYou don’t have a phone
Where you are
You don’t need one where you areHowever I will still wait patiently
For the day
That I can see you againThen I won’t need to be waiting anymore

How do I go back to edit a typo ?
That is a very good question. I was wondering the same thing.
Thanks Jacob much appreciated it’s really fiction for me but it’s more about grief waiting to see in next life
Great site loving it 😊 thanks 🙏. And yes I hope I can edit typo
I was told to go to dashboard I’m still trying to find the edit poem ?
Hi, go to the dashboard and click on the blue pen. There, you can edit your work.
Thanks 🙏
I hope the tea still retained some flavor.
AS Tom Petty sang, “the waiting is the hardest part.”
This poem shows real love and patience with a long term relationship.
They can work…I was in a couple of them…eventually it became too much…but for quite some time, we hung in there.
I feel the emotion of this.

So wonderfully simple even if fictional.
Welcome aboard the Starsite Enterprise.
Thanks so much I appreciate
Ah, the active waiting while also having to move on with the life you still have. When you truly love someone, they stay in your heart forever, and you perfectly captured that here.
Thanks so very much
It’s funny how when they’re alive and they go to the store or some other mundane chore, some may never think about them. And yet when their departure is permanent we can’t get them out of our minds.
Thanks yes so true
That awfulness of waiting Julie, and then the realization that it is permanent. Grief is all consuming, but eventually it softens. Life goes on, but how difficult it can be to navigate without a loved one. Relatable words.
Chris
