the facade blown, the veil taken, I see through you, you do voodo
and I'm not ashamed to do the same
the dark arts are my expertise
an eye for an eye, this statute stands
troubling the deeper magics is not my intent
my thoughts are pure
yours are putrid, devising ways to make people feel loathsome in comparison
what you fail to realize I see through the mischief
with a tongue twisted and cruel
you cast judgement
culprit of vice I didn't need you before

Powerfully penned, Brenda. Another excellent write with lots of layers my friend. “Got to get rid of the vices to get to the virtues” That’s an old quote from a movie called: “Skin Deep.” starring John Ritter. It was an old 80’s movie. The bartender said this to John Ritter’s character in the film. Always stuck with me. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

Whoever the antagonist is would be wise to keep an eye on the peripheral shadows, lest the hunter become the hunted, as they say. The judgement of others is indeed a vice we are better without, and still, we know it will forever be part of human life. Excellent write, my friend.
