molten feelings
Feelings erupt within me
And I swallow them back down
Volcanic, I drink the lava
burning as it goes
until nothing but hot ash comes from my mouth
It’s simmering rage beneath
With small escapes of magma
But the intensity it creates
causes small islands around me
The anger is not directed at anyone
Simply, it is present
When the pressure builds
I have no way to vent fully
The earth moves underneath me
The outside world shifts
And the molten fire threatens again
It is a balancing act, holding it back
cooling my inner chambers
causes solid rock foundations
impenetrable by mortals
My soul tells me it must be so
so that the leaden feelings melt
and are someday turned to gold

Powerfully penned, Brenda. Another excellent write my friend. It’s a fine line when walking on a tightrope in my experience. I can relate. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate you.

hello dearest Damian thank you for understanding it really is ❤️
We are emotional creatures doing the best we can in experience called life.
Some people handle pressure well and others explode.
I keep my cool for the most part but there is something admirable about people who let it out.
And for some we turn it into poetry which is a super power of its own.
Loved the write!
