especially of late I speak
of things felt not mentioned
the telling of a tale is presented
not one to deny its unfolding I relent
some things surprise
others shock me
but still I let it all spill out
from lips cut by secrets
a tongue burnt
a flame of words looking for tinder
so it can burn in another heart, naturally
utterances of a vital nature
if it was nonsense, it would still be necessary
cause laughter is important among the heavier things
a light moment of beauty
a breeze on your cheek
then back to the depths where wisdom is earned
you cannot buy it or bribe this trait
it has to be boiled and refined in your flesh
your thoughts seek and serendipity answers
be wary of what you ask it
you may not be ready for the truth
so take it day by day
moment for moment
with the knowledge each day you’re growing
