the sky
looked like the work
of an artist
who has never once
seen a sky
never once
let his eyes wander up
to the night
and feel
that quiet pull
of distance
never once
watched daylight
spill over the edge
of the world
never once
stood beneath evenin
while color
burned itself out
and faraway stars
settled
into the dark
an artist raised
in rooms without windows
who learned the word blue
only
from the way
someone whispered it
soft
and careful
convinced that the color
could only exist
for the length
of a breath
but one night
he sat alone
and found the dark
full of music
gaspard de la nuit
spillin from a piano
impossible notes
high ones flashin
thin silver blades
low ones rollin
slow
and heavy
dark water
movin under stone
so he painted
the sky
from music
long violent strokes
dragged
across the dark
the closest
he’d ever come
to lookin up

Awesome. This one is an example of why I enjoy reading. For gems like this. Well crafted.
Powerfully penned, 253. Another excellent write with deep layers my friend. Too many great lines to choose from it’s solid throughout. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.
