You Axed Me For A Dream

Bookmark
HomePoetryYou Axed Me For A Dream
Summary:

You axed me for a dream half for the embers
half for you and, I gave you my throat’s hollow
pulled by the strings of the night, each scream
a minuet of blood in the snow.

The blade? Oh, the blade was singing.
you taught it the words through the crack
and came out swinging the axe,
a kind of hunger, how god splits
the thorn and the rose.

Tell me again, how does the dream taste
when you swallow it whole?
Does it burn like gunpowder,
or settle like ash
in the cradle of your womb?

I’d ask you, but your hands are busy,
you axed me for a dream half for the embers
holding the ghost of what I used to be,
so I whisper through the wound,
while it lasted, the thorn and the rose.

    1. Hi
How are you? I see you are a great writer. You have given new definition for poetry.

You express every pain so mildly that describes how you are made. It’s both of you that you have to be good and to be taken advantage of.

But i know you shield yourself inside a tough strength where people may think you are an easy guy but the aura around is protected by your beloveds .
