you said life could be so perfect
when we were animals
like children in the sand
we didn’t know what we had
and life wasn’t as miserable
so tell me how to look you in the eyes
knowing you’ve been consumed by lies
don’t tell me I’m living in the past
you secretly want to be there too
sometimes it’s hard telling you the truth
what’s the point in fighting anyway?
you put me down again and again
so fuck you too my friend
you said life could be so perfect
when we were animals
you had a reason behind those eyes
now that reason has faded away
so let me claw you one last time
for I can find out if you think of me
because I think of you
out of all my friends
I thought you were one I could rely on
but when you accused and denied
pushing me further away
it took away from our innocents
you could have just said no
and walked away from the evils of this world
now you spend your days drugged up on the floor
while I spend my days building a future
we were close
but now it’s goodbye…Forever

Thanks, friend. Much appreciate the read.
People change, sometimes not for the better. Living in the past, when the past was better, isn’t always a bad thing.
Phenomenal spill, my friend.
I think keeping a bit of innocence can help guide us. I’ve lost family members and friends who all have similar stories. When they were younger they got into bad habits. Kept pushing it, convincing themselves they were invisible. And then they became a mess until they died. I also remind myself that I could of ended up that way if I didn’t make better choices.
Thanks for the read, friend.
