Love to make your acquaintance

But will we meet one day?

Maybe in a crowded coffee shop?

A spring day in the middle of May?

Sitting across one another sipping drinks

Mine is a chai, yours probably a latte

As passersby look at us with envy

Or sorrow others probably in dismay.

A cloud that is waiting to die

In summer in a sky that is still gray

Will take its last peak at lovers who’s lives

Was meant for a Shakespearean play.

Will I see those eyes I had dreamt

One day they will look my way

Will I see that smile hiding a life

Burdened with troubles we weigh.

I have always dreamt we could’ve met

For a lovers spat or maybe a wet foreplay

In a room damp with lust we wanted

Our hearts to sprinkle some bodily spray.

Alas, love was not meant to be fulfilled

As much as red cheeks passions betray

In a universe that laughs at our blight

As much as we kneel and humbly pray.

We will likely only be acquaintances

Wondering the nights dreaming of this day

Sitting across in a crowded coffee shop

Sipping drinks in the middle of May.

    1. Perhaps your dreams will come true and you’ll meet said lady just the way you were meant to. I’ll be sitting close by notepad and pen in hand with my coffee taking notes. Don’t mind me I don’t interrupt

      • I’ll pay for another coffee… since you’ll be needing some time to take those notes… there is a lot to write about until the time this lady comes into the coffee shop…
