Trash on Everest

HomePoetryTrash on Everest

There’s always that person that is shrouded in maybes

Of missed moments, shared glances

Maybe even stolen kisses and touches

Ambivalence lacing that the purest longing sorrow

It’s a wretched thing to get close to Everest

And just end up with your heart as trash

Left there because you couldn’t finish the climb

    1. Or… the dude could have been a serial killer, and you missed out on a painful death. If Ted Bundy had been wandering around my campus when I was in school, just damn. I’d have jumped on that Volkswagen gearshift in a heartbeat.

I get you, though. Missed opportunity. It’s tough when you’re a girl. Guys think you’re being too assertive, but they always miss the signals.

    2. Like Damian stated, I also found this powerful. Not everyone can make it to the summit for whatever reasons, but your analogy here is strong.
