In the slums of East London’s streets
An unsolved mystery, a puzzle incomplete
A murder spree of blood and pain
Mutilated abdomens, a madman insane

With an insatiable taste for the streetwalker
A Liston knife no longer hidden
Pulled out from his leather apron
And with great precision and tremendous speed
Horrifically mutilated the victims bleed
Victim after victim bodies were found
With throats cut and organs unbound
Cuts to the face and genital disfigurement
No clues left behind of this familiar scent
His twisted mind so instinctive
And his modus operandi quite distinctive
Verbally assaulting, with hateful words said
In a mere nine weeks, five victims dead
These victims known as the canonical five
Maybe even more no longer alive
No witnesses around, he’s in the clear
Into the darkness he disappears
The leather apron’s infamy has continually grown
Even to this day his identity unknown

“The jewes are the people that will not be blamed for nothing.” There was a lot of prejudice against jews in Whitechapel and the entire east end in 1888. I knew what this was about as soon as I saw the title. He left a leather apron behind after one of the killings. Possible Annie Chapman, not sure. Mary Kelly got it the worst, he had plenty of time with her. Excellent poem with great rhymes . I’m glad I read this.
