The Future Is Not For Sale
“A society reveals what it truly values not by what it promises its children, but by the world it is willing to leave them.”
I do not own a company,
I do not own a television station,
I do not own a government,
I do not own an army,
I own a backpack with a broken zipper
A bicycle with a rusted chain,
And dreams that the grown-ups keep telling me to be patient for.
But I have been watching…
I have been watched cameras appear on every corner,
Watching faces before they no our names.
I have watched machines learn our voices,
Our habits,
And the little pieces of ourselves we leave behind ev every day.
They call it invitation.
They call it progress.
I wonder why progress always seems to know so much about ordinary people,
Yet so little about helping them.
I have watched the richest people in the world build fortunes so large
They could feed cities, shelter families,
And heal community’s,
While millions wonder whether they can afford medicine,
Groceries, or a place to sleep.
The adults tell me that some day I can be anything.
But I look around and ask,
Anything, for whom?
What does it seem that the rules are different depending on how much money you have?
Why are children taught to share
While the powerful adults compete to own more then they could ever use?
Why do forests disappear, rivers become polluted,
Neighborhoods struggle,
And workers grow exhausted
While the wealth of a handful of people grows beyond imagination?
I hear people say that ordinary people are replaceable,
Disposable numbers,
Data consumers, workers,
But I don’t believe that.
I believe every mechanic fixing a truck before sunrise.
Every teacher buying supplies from their own pockets.
Every nurse working through the night.
Every parent skipping meals so their children can eat.
That is where the world lives.
Not in skyscrapers, not in stock prices,
Not in Algorithms.
The world belongs to the people who wake up every morning and keep it alive,
If technically is powerful,
Then let it protect freedom
Instead of shrinking it.
If wealth is powerful,
Then let it build community’s
Instead of walls.
If leadership is powerful,
Then let it serve Instead of rule.
I do not want a future where every step is watched,
Every choice is predicted,
And every human being is measured
By only what they can produce or purchase.
I want a future where kindness matters more then market value,
Where dignity can’t be bought.
Where no child grows up believing
their less important then a corporation.
Where no billionaire, politician or machine gets to decide that ordinary people exist only to serve someone else’s ambition.
The grown-ups tell me that children are the future.
Then perhaps they should listen to us.
Because we have not yet learned to confuse wealth with wisdom.
we have not yet learned to mistake fear for security.
we have not yet learned to believe that power is the same thing as greatness.
The future should not belong to those who possess the most.
It should belong to those who protect the most.
Not the loudest voices,
Not the richest names,
But the millions of ordinary people
Who’s quiet courage keeps the world turning.
Iam only a child,
But someday this world will belong to my generation.
Please leave us one where freedom is still worth inheriting.
“The future does not belong to those wealthy enough to purchase influence or powerful enough to control others. It belongs to the generations who must live with what we choose to protect—or surrender—today.”
We are the children of Thomas Paine.

THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE
[INTRO – SPOKEN WORD]
“A society reveals what it truly values
not by what it promises its children,
but by the world it is willing to leave them.”
I don’t own a company,
a station, government, or army.
I own a broken backpack,
a bicycle rusting in the rain,
and dreams adults keep postponing.
I’ve been watching.
[VERSE 1 – RAP]
Cameras bloom on corners
with electric, sleepless eyes.
Machines learn every voice,
every habit, every place we hide.
They call it innovation,
they call it keeping people safe,
but why does progress know my face
before it knows hunger?
Algorithms map my footsteps,
predict what I might buy,
while families down the block
choose which bill survives.
Rockets touch the heavens
while children sleep in cars.
If this is progress, tell me—
who did we come this far for?
[PRE-CHORUS]
You told us, “Share.”
You told us, “Care.”
Then built a world where gold buys doors
and ordinary hands pay more.
So hear us now—
we’re young, not blind.
You built tomorrow in our name.
Don’t sell the ground beneath our feet.
[CHORUS]
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
Not to the highest bidder.
Own the towers,
own the screen,
but you don’t own the air we breathe
or every human dream.
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
We are more than numbers
on a profit-and-loss scale.
If power means anything,
let power learn to serve.
Leave us freedom worth inheriting.
[VERSE 2 – RAP/ROCK]
Fortunes climb so high
they start looking like command.
Nurses work through midnight.
Teachers buy supplies by hand.
A mechanic wakes before sunrise.
A parent skips a meal
so their children eat.
That is where the world is living.
Not the ticker. Not the brand.
It lives in tired hands still building,
in millions called replaceable.
Technology should guard our freedom,
not quietly reduce it.
Leadership should lift the people,
not teach obedience disguised.
[PRE-CHORUS]
If wealth is strong, let it heal.
If law is just, make it real.
If leaders lead, let them stand
beside the people, not above them.
Don’t call surveillance freedom.
Don’t call exhaustion choice.
Don’t call silence order
when you fear our voice.
[CHORUS]
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
Not for stock, control, or data.
We are not consumers first,
we are not machines with names.
No billionaire or politician
gets to purchase what remains.
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
Every child is worth more
than a number in a sale.
If progress leaves us voiceless,
then progress missed the point.
Build a future made for people.
[VERSE 3 – PROGRESSIVE BUILD]
The grown-ups say, “You can be anything.”
I ask, “Anything—for whom?”
Can I be free when every doorway
has a camera in the room?
Can I be heard when money whispers
louder than a million votes?
Is it choice when every road
is owned by someone selling hope?
You taught us not to bully.
Then why worship domination?
You taught us greed was ugly,
then built greed into the nation.
You told us to protect the weak,
to share, forgive, be kind—
then praised the ones who hoarded most
and called the winners “bright.”
Maybe children see it clearly
because we haven’t learned the lie
that having more means being wiser
or fear should run our lives.
So tell me:
Who gave anyone the right to own tomorrow?
[BRIDGE – SPOKEN-RAP]
I don’t want each step predicted,
each thought profiled,
or dignity auctioned
before it reaches a child.
I don’t want forests traded for quarterly gains,
rivers poisoned, workers breaking
while record profits rise.
Give us a future where kindness has value
when nobody can monetize it.
Where privacy isn’t suspicious,
compassion isn’t weakness,
and no corporation is more sacred
than the people keeping it alive.
The future should not belong
to whoever possesses the most,
but whoever protects the most.
[BREAKDOWN – CROWD CHANT]
Not the loudest!
Not the richest!
Not the ones who own it all!
Hands that heal us!
Hands that teach us!
Hands that catch us when we fall!
We are millions!
More than what you sell!
BUT OUR FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
[CLOSING CHORUS]
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
Hear the children at the doorway,
hear tomorrow through the veil.
We inherit every river,
every scar and every choice.
If you say that we’re the future,
then make room and hear our voice.
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
Let technology defend us.
Let compassion tip the scale.
Measure power by the people
it protects—not by its kingdoms
or the price it made us pay.
THE FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!
We are ordinary people,
and together we prevail.
Leave us forests. Leave us freedom.
Leave us something worth inheriting.
[OUTRO – SPOKEN WORD]
“The future does not belong
to those wealthy enough to purchase influence
or powerful enough to control others.
It belongs to the generations
who must live with what we choose
to protect—or surrender—today.”
I am only a child.
Someday, this world will belong
to my generation.
Please leave us one
where freedom is still worth inheriting.
We are the children of Thomas Paine.

Bravo!
you’re right to think of in terms of what our children inherit because of our choices…pre surgery I was afraid of what the world is today…I even thought to die rather than face it… but what had me figh were my children navigating without my help… this is a deep write…full of so much truth it is our solemn duty to protect the future great write ❤️
