Summary:
Late Night Musing. Just basically thinking out loud, folks. Appreciate you. - Damian DeadLove

No matter the vibe it’s only temporary

Eventually there’s no place left to run

From birth all the way to the cemetery

Burden turns heavy guilt weighs a ton

Everybody’s hiding a skeleton or two

Sooner or later the punishment’s due

Tried to drown the wickedness away

Until my body couldn’t ingest anymore

Stifled voices linger in clouds of grey

Meanwhile trouble arrives at the door

Still repairing mistakes already made

Can’t hide past demons in the shade

Tomorrow is another day of reflecting

Going back to the scene of the crime

Something seems off not connecting

Realizing there is never enough time

    1. Damn, I can completely feel how it all seems like it can just slip right through your fingers…Time waits for no one and can be brutal with its incessantness, indeed

You created a universal understanding within your ink that most people can wholly identify with, especially once you’ve reached a certain age…

Wonderfully crafted – ty for sharing

    2. Sigh…it takes us where it takes us. Regardless where you were going it took me to this…honor the memories, live in the moment. Ain’t nobody perfect. We’ve all got our demons. And they live where we can’t outrun them. There’s a lot in this one that speaks to different thoughts for me. Gonna be pondering this one for a while, my friend

    3. I think honoring who we were as well
As who we are now allows us to make peace with our ghosts.

Punishment lasts as long as we make it last. Just my thoughts. I wouldn’t have thought about it so much had I not read this poem of yours over and over.

Thank you for the gift of you, Damian.
