French for “My Dragonfly”
Always hanging by the water cool—
that is where you find my libellule.
Unafraid to spread her gentle wings,
she only prefers the poetic things.
All she finds along her way,
also bold in the words she will say.
A most cynical romantic
shudders at anything pedantic.
Forever in search for true love,
one that will fit like a kid glove.
A lover of both leather and lace,
yet weary of the courtly chase.
Living the life of a paradox,
a drawer full of keys, but no locks.
She wears one around her neck—
calm waters cover a shipwreck.
One chock full of deep treasures
with a penchant for odd pleasures.
A lover of both women and men,
never penning her poetry with just a pen.

“Living the life of a paradox,
a drawer full of keys, but no locks.”
That is my favorite stanza. Beautiful piece.
Powerful work.
Dreamy and earthly, strong and gentle, all at the same time.
Gorgeously written piece!
Thanks so much…
Beautifully penned, LDF. This is an incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.
