Key Without a Lock

HomePoetryKey Without a Lock

As useless as a broken clock
is this key with no lock
no way to finally set free
all of these mysteries of me

Locked forever in the dark
hopelessly waiting for any spark
to somehow then do the job
choose someone else to then rob

Dangling from a thin silver chain
always tinkling like spring rain
there to remind me again
while I dip deep my dry pen

In the hope to then hope
uncoil this infinity of rope
that ties me tight to myself
a library so trapped on the shelf

With such little chance of being read
just another sad elegy for the dead
another bleeding lonely poem
washed up within this sea foam
