Summary:
sorrow... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04J0ihSeIuI
in the needful glare I don't measure up
gazing at starlit thoughts
they shimmer the souls of beauty

sacrifice the pride and put it aside
my luster has faded
my glory has stunted

redemption in a glance
if only you would look at me like that
pentrated want I desire more

mockingbirds gossip undressing me to my sorrow
it is with great care I cast my illusion
secrets revealed steals my glitter

lamenting in the spotlight of your disdain
my vain attempts are looked upon as weak
my burden to carry
my faith broken in you and self

a flower who bloom for a day and withered
no more hummingbirds to suckle
trading my self esteem for proclivities of shame
my thoughts mirrored back to me in this letter

    1. Brenda, you can take a sad day and make great poetry like this. This may be sad but it is art. I love how you express yourself even when you are down. Inspired and exquisite.

      • thank you dearest John yesterday was Mother’s day and I was at the park with my husband and I caught sight of him gazing at a younger more fit woman and I realized he would probably never look at me like that again it made me sad… I deeply appreciate the love you show me 💕

    2. Brenda, there will never be a voice as powerful & emotion-packed as yours. This has the feel of a stroll through a misty meadow viewed through tears. Beautiful ❤️
