Summary:
A few choice words for my troll...

here I am…

standing in the ashes…

of what you thought burnt to the ground

but for one tiny detail…

you might have won

thing is this…

the only thing you burned…

was a bridge

I remain…though changed

and you no longer have access

you are no rival…

for the fires I’ve survived

a tiny spark in an airless room…

that’s you

though you tried to incinerate what once was…

I rise again

from the ash of my past

returning in a new shape…

reborn into a stronger me

and that was your biggest mistake…

thinking you could destroy…

a future me

oh baby…

you never stood a chance…

there aren’t enough matches for that

    1. There’s a grit here that tastes like smoke and victory—scorched bridges and unbroken will.
I love how it doesn’t just rise from ashes; it struts, unafraid, daring the past to even try again.

    2. Powerfully penned, Willow. Into the book it belongs! Excellent write but I expect nothing less from you my friend, and you always deliver the goods. The grit as Thomas put it, is chef’s kiss.. You hit this one out of the park! Like a phoenix you have risen from the ashes. I like in the movie “Death To Smoochy” when the one guy said: “I’ve risen like a beautiful Phoenix, or some other town in Arizona!” lol. I’ll get more marshmallows for the bonfire my friend. Appreciate you.

      • Maybe we could have hot cocoa with our flaming marshmallows? I got lots of kindling over here. Keep bringing the marshmallows. We’re good for a long while, my friend 😊
