Did you ever see your loneliness
Or close down and take the pain
After every piece of hope was gone
Did you give yourself the blame
Did you start the fire
Or just supply the spark
Was it hard to run
In the dark?
Did you ever dare to dream
Or ever really try to give
When no one really tried to take
Did you really want to live
Did you throw it all away
Or did you make your mark
Was it hard to cry
In the dark?
Did you feel misunderstood
Or even just confused
After everybody went away
Did you feel like you were used
Did you learn the world we’re in
Isn’t a walk in the park
Was it hard to lie
In the dark?

Powerfully penned, Brandon. That’s an amazing write for anyone, makes it that much more impressive at 16 years old my friend. I still I have my first notebook as well, have never posted them though. Welcome to Stars Rite! Appreciate you.

Damian,
Beyond humbled by all your comments. Happy to be here!
You wrote this at 16? What a deep thought. What a wonderful beginning. Welcome to Stars Rite Brandon;)
Thank you! You made me smile this morning.
There’s a raw, searching honesty in this. you can feel the questions shaping the voice that would come later. The repetition of the dark works like a pulse, steady and human. A strong beginning, and you can already see the spark you kept.
P.S. I’m so glad you broke out that notebook my friend.
I am very happy I did. 🙂
