WOW!
I can’t believe I get first review for this splendid little mind twister.
First-off, Adagio, I enjoy the skill it took to lay such smooth rhythm and spot-on line-breaks throughout. But, it’s how your metaphorical imagery moves the mind in so many directions, into such varied facets of perception calling out in deciphering your message … and, I’m gonna give it my best shot.
L1 & L2 speak to me of how your thoughts and feelings have been altered by reminders of past tragedy and/or misfortune, and L3 shoved deeply back into your memory’s core (perhaps, for need of emotional and/or mental protection), L4 seeking salvation from it all, L5 something to numb the emotional pain and turn it into a shiny world of bright colors.
Though, your title “Artifacts” drew me in, I think an apt title would be “Salvation”. Just my 2¢.
I can l almost hear your laughter at my fumbling attempts to interpret the essence of this well-struck piece … but, I did my best for ya, My New friend.
Drop by my place for a read (or, more) when chance allows:
I’d like that very much! ⁓ Richard🖌
Thank you kindly.
