I Wasn’t Flirting

You asked me to the show,
I hesitated a while.
Then something softened,
and I answered with a smile.

The ceiling danced above us,
shifting with the beat.
We moved a little closer,
and let our bodies meet.

We danced beneath the lights,
got closer with each song.
A little grind, a little tease,
we lost ourselves with such ease.

I wasn’t flirting,
just going with the flow.
You smiled, I smiled back,
letting the moment grow.

I called you trouble.
You just smiled so bold.
Then you gave me that look
like the story was told.

I wasn’t flirting,
but sexy, be fair.
You brought all that tension
and left it right there.

No promises in the morning,
no questions when we’re through.
Just one night, a little trouble,
and a sunrise meant for two.

I wasn’t flirting.
That’s my story, anyway.
You know what happened.
And that’s all I’ll say.
