they say it began
when fire ripped open the dark
not light
just a wound bleedin heat
raw and screamin
it burned fast and greedy
with a hunger
that swallowed silence whole
water rose to meet it
swellin with purpose
rollin over every crack
risin up against the flame
pressin air into steam
turnin breath in gasps
drownin out sparks
in its ancient name
ice came after
crawlin slow and certain
creepin over fire and flood
smotherin their struggle
in a quiet too heavy to break
layin down glass bones
across their fury
froze the battle stiff
leavin only stillness
where chaos once raged
and from their war…
breath
flesh
a body pulled from ache
a world torn into existence
the gods did not make it gentle
they never do
they only make it last

You put so much emotion into the description. This is a great piece

Holy crap! This is…incredible! Some of the most beautiful flowers grow in areas of absolute adversity. That last stanza…ouch… & one helluva solid fact
damn. appreciate this compliment
Knocked this challenge out of the park, Ambjr. The depth of the imagery is precise, and the words are soaked in gasoline. Combustible write my friend, excellent work. Appreciate you.
