I’ve seen them
somethin in it
just wasn’t healthy
snapped
fell
left to die
and for a little while
it still believes it’s alive
veins carryin lies
til the color drains out
til the skin dries
til the first hard wind
turns it to nothin
it happens quietly
so quiet
no one stops
no one bends down
no one comforts it
while it suffocates in silence
no one even notices
that it’s dyin
nobody cares
I pick it up
move it to the burn pile
and I think…

what it’s like
to lose pieces of yourself
to watch them wither
or get torn away
or be cut clean off

Interesting choice a tree. Depending on where you were planted your roots can go very deep and even though you can go through the cycle of death with branches and leaves and storms ripping at you, it funny how a shoot comes from the roots or another limb is created. Its never like the original but was meant to be. (Thoughts ran away with me
