Summary:
2 for poetry month

my hands fall off the keys
music still hangin
in the air above me
but my body loses it
bench shiftin underneath me
legs forgettin where they belong

and I drop

knees crackin against the floor
spine snappin
as my head falls back
eyes wide and mouth open
that last note still ringin
vibratin thru my bones
holdin me there
gaspin

blue pours out
thick and heavy
tears thru my throat
coats my tongue
forces past my teeth
spills over my chin
on the way out
my lungs convulse round it
cobalt ocean
gushin from deep in my chest

sound caught inside of me
wet
low
gurglin thru a flooded throat
each attempt at breath
regurgitatin more
it keeps comin
heavier
relentless
forcin out
til air is gone
and all that’s left is pressure

releasin
buildin
behind my eyes
til they split
yellow leakin
thin lines from the corners
then brighter
sharper
streamin down my temples
over my cheeks
burnin as it goes

red drips
from my nose
thick
hot
pushin out
in uneven bursts
over my lips
down into the blue
taste of metal floodin everythin
chokin on color and melody

green seeps
from my ears
slow
then steady
runnin down my neck
soakin into my collar
lettin what the music
left inside of me
finally find a way out

it keeps comin

colors spillin over each other
mixin mid fall
drippin off my face
my jaw
expelled from my throat
no rhythm left to it
just force
everythin leavin at once

my body buckles
hands hittin the puddle
at my knees
slick
slippin under me
fingers diggin in
findin nothin to hold

it thins
ragged
chokin
pullin the last of it
out of me
as air rips back
into my chest
sharp
burnin

one breath

collapsin in it
soaked
that last note
still hangin in the air
