Summary:
Another poem for my Inks of Africa collection... based upon three expeditions to Africa... living among the people visiting a third of its countries... this book has been so much fun. I have researched African poetry to include poems in its style along with sonnets, cinquains, haiku, villanelle... etc.

Now it seems so easy to see,
my path traced in a dusted destiny –
all these truths which lie in store,
far beyond each African shore.

I sailed across a world so wide
to allow my soul to no longer hide.
Barefoot, I stepped upon the land,
listening to the glistening sand.

Coming to trust these signs I find,
red dust now a scripture so refined,
clinging to both hands and feet,
where ruddy earth and heaven meet.

For at last, I dare to take my place
within life’s dance in all its grace—
moving in rhythm with her song,
how again I do know I belong.

While I feel the spirit of ubuntu,
each note I sing forever true,
my soul unbound, for all to see –
living life eternal in its destiny.
